Designer’s Insight
When I first saw this living room, it had a small TV tucked into a corner, and the room felt cold and uninviting. My client wanted a mid-century modern style that could also accommodate a larger TV. I created 3D models to show them how placing a bigger TV between the two windows could work (the view looks out to the carport, which isn’t ideal, so we decided to keep the shutters half-closed to reduce the glare and improve the TV viewing experience.).
This layout allowed them to watch TV comfortably while cooking in the kitchen—no more twisting their necks. It turned out to be a great solution.
